David Silverthorne
(Sir Thomas de Vere)

David is the current head of the Household and has been re-enacting since 1988, always focusing on the Wars of the Roses period.  He prefers fighting with sword and buckler but is quite happy to mix it up!

Sir Thomas de Vere was the third son of Sir John de Vere, the 12th Earl of Oxford. Like Sir John, he was born in and grew up in Wivenhoe, Essex. It is known he fought during the Wars of the Roses and finally at Stoke in 1487 before dying in 1489. He was unmarried and had no children. There are suggested links to an ecclesiastical life for Sir Thomas.
